Toronto – May 14, 2019: Visa Canada is excited to announce that it has been recognized on the 2019 list of Best Workplaces™ for Mental Wellness, after a thorough and independent analysis conducted by Great Place to Work®. To place on this list, organizations must be Great Place to Work Certified™ in the past year and a minimum of 80 per cent of employees must determine that their workplace is psychologically and emotionally healthy.
Visa Canada has a number of initiatives in place that encourage employee mental health and wellness, including one-on-one sessions with a nutritionist and wellness consultant, weekly yoga and pilates classes, access to a relaxation room, weekly delivery of healthy snacks and fruit, as well as a generous annual wellness benefit that can go towards a gym membership, fitness equipment, gadgets or services.
“At Visa Canada, we care about all aspects of our employees’ lives, and we’re humbled to see the impact our efforts have made on our employees through the wellness initiatives we’ve implemented,” said Stacey Madge, Country Manager and President, Visa Canada. “This acknowledgement by Great Place to Work® is an immense honour, and we thank our team for taking the time to complete this survey and provide honest feedback.”
This recognition marks Visa Canada’s fifth award in the past year, after being named as a Best Workplace™ in Canada, Best Workplace™ in Technology, Best Workplace™ Managed by Women and one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers. As a Great Place to Work Certified™ organization, Visa Canada is committed to continuing to put its employees first and making Visa Canada a great place to work every day.
The 2019 list of Best Workplaces™ for Mental Wellness is based on direct feedback from employees that were surveyed by Great Place to Work® and determined based on two criteria – the overall Mental Wellness Index score from employees and the range and quality of programs that encourage mental wellness.
