Celebrating the end of another award-winning year at Visa Canada

This year has certainly been a difficult one full of unknowns, but it’s also shown the incredible resilience of our team at Visa Canada. Over the past year – along with many other companies – we have been dealing with the realities of a remote work environment, finding new ways to engage with our colleagues, and learning how to better contribute to building a more diverse and inclusive workplace. This isn’t the first time that Visa Canada has been privileged to receive some of these awards, but in an especially challenging year, it feels more meaningful than ever before.

 

1. GTA Top 100 Employer
   Visa Canada was named one of Greater Toronto Area’s Top 100 Employers for the third year in a row. Our employee-first approach to handling the challenges of the pandemic, our unique charitable donation matching program and our full suite of financial benefits are a few of the things that we were recognized for this year.
   
   
   
2. 2020 Best Workplaces in Canada
   For the second year in a row, Visa was recognized as one of the highest-rated workplaces across the country, ranking at #12 (up from #27 the previous year). Visa prides itself on giving employees the opportunity to shape the Canadian payments landscape, invest in their career growth and be part of an inclusive and diverse workplace.

   Advancing diversity and inclusion is paramount for Visa Canada, reinforced through our commitment to equity in the workplace and opportunities for support, development and growth. We continually examine our organization to ensure that we are creating an environment where all employees can thrive. 5. Best Workplaces for Mental Wellness
   Visa Canada has a number of initiatives in place that encourage employee mental health and wellness, including virtual sessions with a nutritionist and wellness consultant, virtual yoga and Pilates classes. With an increased focus on mental wellness this year, we recently expanded our annual wellness benefit that can go towards fitness equipment, a personal trainer, hobbies and self-improvement courses or home office needs. We’re excited to see the impact our efforts have made on our employees and to receive this award again in 2020.
   
   
   
6. Best Workplaces in Ontario
   Visa Canada was named one of the Best Workplaces in Ontario by Great Place to Work, a new award we were proud to receive in 2020. This award is based on direct feedback from our hardworking employees.
   
   
   
7. Best Workplaces Managed by Women
   We’re an organization made up of many strong women leaders, and this award is one we’re proud to receive for the third year in a row. The majority (>60%) of our executives, and more than half (>50%) of our Canadian Leadership Team are women, working towards our mission to connect the world through the most innovative, reliable and secure digital payment network.

9. Ipsos 10 Most Influential Brands in Canada
   For the eighth consecutive year, Visa was named one of Canada’s top 10 most influential brands. The Ipsos study examines five key dimensions that drive the most influential brands in Canada: trustworthiness, presence, being leading edge, corporate citizenship and engagement. We’re proud to be amongst companies like Google Apple and Netflix as one of Canada’s most trusted brands, and the only payments company on the list.
   
   
   
10. CPRS Toronto ACE Award
    Each year, the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) celebrates the best in public relations and communications with its Achieving Communications Excellence (ACE) Awards. The ACE Awards represent skill, innovation and intelligence within the communications industry. This year, Visa Canada received Silver in Best New Product or Service Launch for  She’s Next, Empowered by Visa, a campaign which offered Canadian women entrepreneurs tools and resources to help them thrive.
    
    
    
11. Sponsorship Marketing Council of Canada, Award of Distinction
    Each year, the Sponsorship Marketing Council Canada (SMCC) honours the top brands who have made an outstanding contribution to sponsorship marketing in Canada. Visa Canada was recognized with an Award of Distinction in Arts & Culture, for its best-in-class activation at TIFF 2019.
    
    
    
12. Strategy Marketing Award for Best in Copywriting
    Visa Canada won Bronze for Best in Copywriting at Strategy’s Marketing Awards 2020, for our pre-movie spot during the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival. The spot showcased the benefits of Visa Infinite Concierge via Jeremy, an overzealous but lovable celebrity assistant who runs around his employer’s mansion, completing tasks as she barks commands from the other room.
    
    
    
13. Most Influential Women in Payments
    Every year, PaymentsSource honours the women who are driving change and creating opportunities in the payments industry. This year, Stacey Madge, Visa Canada’s country manager and president was named on the prestigious list. The winners are recognized for demonstrating the importance of women to all aspects of the payments industry and across the globe.
    
    
    
14. Distinguished Payments Professional
    Visa Canada’s country manager and president Stacey Madge was awarded the Women in Payments Distinguished Payments Professional Award in 2020. This lifetime achievement award recognizes a leading woman who has made significant contributions to the payments industry, and one who is an acknowledged trendsetter, role model, and positive contributor to the overall positive image of the industry.
