Visa Brand Mark Requirements

Visa Canada has specific requirements regarding colours, spacing, sizing and background that must be followed when reproducing the Brand Mark. Download the Visa Canada Brand Mark Requirements for full details.

As a service for authorized Visa member financial institutions and Visa merchants, Visa makes files available to download for use online and offline. Use is subject to these conditions:

  • Only Visa member financial institutions and Visa merchants are authorized to use the Visa Brand Mark.
  • The availability of this artwork does not constitute a licence to use it, but rather is a service for those already authorized to use it.
  • Under no circumstances should the Visa Brand Mark be altered, manipulated or distorted. (see Visa Brand Mark Requirements.)

Displaying the Visa Brand Mark Online

We ask that you include a link from the Visa Brand Mark graphic back to the Visa Canada website, using the following instructions:

  • Right-click on the image you want to download and select "Save Image As". Save the file onto your hard drive.
  • Copy the HTML code associated with the image you choose and paste it into your HTML document.

Visa Trademark Requirements

Visa Canada has specific trademark requirements that must be followed when using the Visa Brand Mark either on its own or within a composite logo.

Using the Visa Brand Mark on Cards:

  • The * symbol must be used to denote "trademark".
  • The * symbol must appear at the upper right corner of the Visa Brand Mark.
  • The * symbol should be set in either Arial or Whitney Medium type style, font size of 8 points.
  • The corresponding trademark legend must appear on the back of the card and it must be one of the acceptable legends outlined in Table 1-2 of Section 1.5.B of the Visa Canada Operating Regulations.

Using the Visa Brand Mark on Materials Other than Cards:

  • A symbol, such as ® or * must be used to denote "trademark".
  • The registered trademark symbol must appear at the bottom right corner of the Visa Brand Mark (see below). The symbol should appear in either Arial or Whitney Medium, with font size determined by the size of the Brand Mark presented.
  • The corresponding trademark legend should be appropriately placed on the collateral material and must be one of the acceptable legends outlined in Table 1-2 of Section 1.5.A.2 of the Visa Canada Operating Regulations.
  • Notification in any form must NOT appear on any of the following:
    • Merchant decals
    • Decal representations

The ® and * symbols may need to be rescaled in size to address readability or reproduction issues.

VbV Logos & Marks
Visa cardholders know and recognize
the Verified by Visa (VbV) logo.

As a service to Visa card issuing financial institutions and Visa merchants, Visa makes VbV materials available to download for onscreen and offline use.

Only Visa card issuing financial institutions and VbV-enabled merchants are authorized to use the Verified by Visa Merchant Mark.

Use of these VbV materials by a Visa merchant does not constitute the merchant to be a licensor of the VbV mark or any other Visa mark.

Under no circumstances should the VbV Merchant Mark be altered, manipulated or distorted.
